Thank you for taking the time to leave comments on my blog.  I would love to answer your questions if you would identify yourself and tell me what your connection is to us or our adoption.  I always appreciate uplifting comments as adoption is a hard road.  But we are choosing to travel that road and we thank God that He has gone before us to prepare the way.

Happy Birthday

This sweet boy came to our home when he was 3 months old. 

Today he is 5 and I just don't know where the time has gone.  

Doing what he loves.

Soon

Soon we will be going back to Ukraine.  We can't wait to see what God has in store this time.  So many times in the midst of this adoption I have struggled to keep my heart and mind focused on God and his plan for all of this.  Oh how easy it was to have my mind wander to why this and why that.  I even began to doubt whether we were going down the path that God wanted us to be on.  Was He trying to show us a different road to take or did we just need to be still a while longer.  My faith has been tested over and over and the waiting has been treacherous.  But God in all His awesomeness has shown me in ways that only He could that we are doing what He has commanded us to do. 

Some people have said to me how great it is that we are doing this because they couldn't do it.   I don't think that Gary and I are doing anything extraordinary.  But we serve an extraordinary God who is using two simple people like us to adopt two beautiful children.  We are weak but He is strong.  He is just asking us to trust Him and follow where He leads. 

The Bible verse in the header of this blog says it all for me.
    
     Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do.  God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know and holds us responsible to act.  Proverbs 24:12

My Best Friend

Twelve years ago today I married my best friend.  God surely shined on me that day.  This man has been more than I asked for and definitely more than I could have dreamed of.  He thinks he is lucky to have me but little does he know that I am the lucky one.  He puts my happiness above his own and never complains.  This man travelled all the way to Ukraine more than once so that I could have the daughter I had always dreamed of.  When she finally does make it home I think she is gonna be daddy's girl and I wouldn't want it any other way.

The Amazing Race

Not sure how many of you have seen The Amazing Race but Gary and I feel like we are on one.  Get on a plane and fly to your destination.  Go here and ask the powers that be for your next clue.  Get in a taxi and go this many miles/km to find,  oh what's that, a road block.  You get the picture.

All that aside, today has been an amazing day.  I know it is because of all the people praying to God for us.  We were able to get done what we had hoped today and we will be travelling home soon.  We will return to Ukraine at a later time and finish what God has started.  Sorry I can't give anymore details but just know that things are looking better.

SDA Appointment

We had our SDA appointment today and it did not go as well as we had hoped but we do still have hope.  We are regrouping and looking at our options.  That is all I can say for now.
